A New Look for 2006

Through the years, as TRC has grown and matured as an organization, and so has our way of communicating with the world. It was not so long ago when TRC had a membership and communicated with local members by mailing out newsletters. But in 1994, that started to change with the addition of a web site. Since then, TRC has made a transition from a membership model, to solely an internet model today. This has allowed us to reach a wider audience with a lower overhead so we can truly maximize our land acquisitions.

Over the past year, we have been working to restructure our content so it is easier for the visitor to navigate. And today, to accompany that, you see a new visual design—our third since the site first launched. We feel this better reflects the TRC of today, and will appeal to a wider audience that has grown significantly since our first site was launched in 1994.

The new site is built with CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets. This is a more efficient manner of separating our content from the site's structure, thereby making it far easier to manage as a whole. Most modern browsers going back a few years support CSS and should be able to display the pages properly. If you are not seeing the full styled content, then we highly recommend upgrading your browser.

We hope you will enjoy this new site and find it useful. We are still ironing out the bugs in some areas and completing the transition in others, so we appreciate your patience while we sort things out. Once the transition is complete, you will see more new and exciting content on rainforests coming your way.

Thanks for your support over the years: you have made a difference!
