Q: What is design? - Frances
A: In my opinion, design stimulates the mind through a variety of creative ideas released into visualization. The colors and shapes add life to what is seen in front of you. The structure and form of it all combines vision with mental activity, resulting in some sort of response, based on that part of the senses. When it comes down to processing your thoughts for the design piece, you have to have a really intense attitude. The intensity gathers all of the ideas from different areas and pulls them together to solve a puzzle. Completing it is the next big step. Nothing should aim towards just getting it done. What it should be is for yourself; the feeling you get when you are satisfied gets you more into the game. The viewers and their reactions should be considered, but if you do it for yourself, the outcome will affect the audience in a positive way. The effort you put into your work shows, and other peoples' minds are involved in the conclusion. When it comes to focusing on something, you have to ease all of the stress around you. To relieve stress easily, you have to think only about what you are currently doing, and try hard to rid any other thoughts by getting in the mood so it can take control of the situation. That’s what I do and it works well. I let all of the thoughts come to me rather than forcing them to come. Once I obtain ideas, then I start planning.
Design is a part of daily life. There are ads and commercials everywhere. But to put that aside, design consists of everything. Life is design. Buildings, cars, toys, the sky, etc. are all elements of design. Life inspires people to design whether we know it or not. When we wake up, the first thing we see is life. Life is everywhere and unknowingly interpreted into the mind, which is a projector of thoughts and ideas. - Rob
